For those who don't know...i'm female. And yep, I wear men's kilts. Right now it's only the contempoary/urban variety. I don't have a wool tartan tank yet, as I'm still not sure it's practical for me.
A ladies long kilted skirt is too formal for my "rock & roll" lifestyle, and well...I just don't have the legs to pull off the mini-kilt look.
My workman's UK is about darn near a pefect garment for me. The right length, the right netral color that goes with the rest of my wardrobe, and super durable, and has a ton of pockets.
I have an AK, I find it's similar in design to a UK, but it dresses up a bit better than the UK. As well, I have a black Tripp kilt that is covered in chrome hardware and while very goth, it works great for a night out clubbing.
In short, yes I know they are traditionally a mens garment, but it's just not an issue for someone like me who's being wearing all kinds of other men's clothes besides kilts.
