Be original and get a tartan that 1000+ other people don't have. Not to bash the Gordon tartan, but it's almost as common as the Royal Stewart and Black Watch these days. Just my opinion of course, but I prefer to introduce people to new tartans rather than one that is very common. Now if Gordon is the family name and that is what you would like to represent....awesome, but if you are just picking a tartan, go for something unique. Personally I would go for the County Cork. Not just because I have spent time there, but because it is a nice looking tartan
