    Ron,

I think your purchase of the USMC tartan is an excellent choice, and I also think that it reaches further in you than just feeling like it's time to buy another kilt. I feel this tartan can be worn by anyone who likes it and/or wishes to show support for our troops.

I've just purchased this tartan today in the Stillwater economy model. I've have several SWK wool heavyweights and standards, but decided to try an economy model for lighter weight summer wear.

I was not in the Marines per say, but was a Navy medic stationed at the Naval Hospital on the 2nd Marine Air Wing Base in Cherry Point, NC during the Vietnam era. The medics in the field with the Marines are actually Navy - they wear Marine Corps uniforms, but with Navy stripes. So to make a long story short, I will proudly wear the USMC to honor these brave men and women of the USMC, as will as the Navy medics who bravely serve with them in the field.

    Thanks Darrell,

As far as I'm concerned you Navy Medics be Marines too. No doubt about it.

Trying to patiently wait for mine to be sewn up. Haven't heard the material's here yet...so just patience....

How 'bout that. I was aboard Cherry Point in the early 90's. I want to make it back over in the near future. Maybe do a trip up the coast and hit Parris Island while I'm at it for old times sake.
