Some vendors (Robin Lous at Kiltgoodies.com, and Steve Ashton at Freedom Kilts) stock longer-than-average clamp hangers, which help keep kilts for the larger-waisted gentleman flat when hung in the closet. I have some from kiltgoodies.com. I also have some small cedar disks from the same source which adorn each hanger to keep the moths away.

I have a 'proper' tubular kilt carrier from 'The Kilter Co '(various vendors stock them) but I'd also vouch for the efficacy of P1M's 'roll-you-own' thread, when transporing kilts in airline-size suitcases. Worked a treat for me. Others have pointed to P1M's thread. (The colour of the stocking is apparently not critical!)
Best regards
