We went to the pub again yesterday evening with my pal and his dog. The farmer guy wasn't there. The pub was quite full and my Cilt drew no attention that I could see. It was completely uneventful. Sorry about the shake with the camera. My wife had the setting wrong.

It's a testament to the man of wits (the kilter) when he chooses his response. 1, 2 or 3.
3. He could be confrontational;
2. he could be evasive; or,
1. he could engage the would be antagonist in an intelligent conversation. Allow the mouthy one to show his intellect further, as either willing to converse and learn (which would certainly impress everyone, including himself), or preferring ignorance. Yours was #1.
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Ummh, I agree, but it happened 18 months ago! And having met Derek in person, I have to say that this does not surprise me. Let no one say that being a big gent is required to wear a kilt with pride in the face of others dispersions. Derek projects his confidence and whatever he wears. And with support he enjoys from his lovely wife, he has nothing to worry about.

Whow .. what an old thread .. there have been a few more confrontations since this one, and I have posted about those as well. The first pic brings back so many happy memories and also makes me sad. Those were our two 'babies'. Sadly Lucy, the lurcher on the left passed away in Feb 2006 and Dolly on the right passed away three months after her to the day. She pined herself away after the loss of her 'sister'. We did everything we could for her in every way to make up for Lucy but to no avail. It broke our hearts. Elaine still cries for them now. As you can see, they were also loyal Cilt/Kilt supporters.

This reminds me of a time I wore a kilt to a wedding. after the affair was over me and some friends went to this BBQ place called Joe cotton's. As the name might suggest, it is indeed a redneck joint, and in fact doesn't even use plates, everything is served on butcher paper. Well, As I was walking along I happened to miss the door because it was in exactly the same old barn wood as the rest of the exterior. A man noticed me looking around for the door and asked me if I was indeed looking for the door. I said yes, and he told me that it was just down a ways. It turns out that I had already passed the door and the man was just being rude. My friends were regulars, and soon sorted me out (it was my first time there). When I entered the restaurant, there was a sort of rolling silence, and a few chuckles. It was kind of offensive, but in the end, i just figured they were ignorant and the best response was to simply behave normally and let them see that I was indeed just a regular man.

I hope this guy is in Cardiff next Thursday, he'll see a few such "skirts" then!
