Chaplain Harris,

You are not a "dork", or if you are, you have the pleasure of being in the good company of about a thousand other "dorks". Based on the good fellowship, knowledge, and humor shared amongst the ladies and gentlemen of X marks the Scot I tend to think it's the former.

The standard formula for a kilt night is:

Good Company + Kilts + Fun location = Kilt Night

A standard variation I (and many other X Markers ) prefer is:

Good Company + Kilts + Good Beer + Fun location = Kilt Night

That's all there is to it.

A good portion of the the Bay Area Rabble gathers on the last Friday of each month at the Devil's Canyon Brewery in Belmont. The DCB have fantastic beer, nice people , good music, and are family friendly place to boot. I don't know if it was Rigged or Motorman4Life who started it, but it has been going for at least the last year I have been with X Marks the Scot.

Gather your friends together and find an enjoyable place to meet to drink, laugh, and share stories. Make sure that you are ready to answer some friendly questions from the passers by. You never know, you may convert a few of them to be kilties.

Perhaps some day you will find yourself in the Bay Area toward the end of the month. If you do I look forward to buying you a glass of the DCB's Full Boar Scotch Ale.

Cheers

Panache
