Find a copy of J. Charles Thompson's "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt," or make extensive use of the "search" feature for these forums...
Or both.
It'd harder than you'd think to look like a *complete* buffoon in a kilt. Many of those listed in pour1malt's "Kilt Do's and Don'ts" thread tried really, really, really hard, and succeeded.
Check the "Show Us Your Pics" threads on formal, dressy, and casual, and pay close attention to any photos of Hamish as "that's how to do it."
