I respectfully disagree with you there. I went to a concert in Estes Park last year and an Aussie band called "Brother" opened for Seven Nations. Talk about tribal.... these guys had a keyboard and a digereedoo and they were great. But then again Wolfstone is an entirely different class of band.

I've got some pictures of them from their performance in Cary, NC last fall if anyone is interested. We were able to get very close due to the size of this event.

We'll be going to see them at the NC Ren Faire next month, too.

I dunno... I mean, don't get me wrong, Albannach and Wicked Tinkers are good, but I enjoy the musical skill required to put together guitar, fiddle, bagpipes, drums. I mean, I could go out on campus right now, round up a few guys and give them African drums, pull out my pipes, and we could play an Albannach song. But if you listen to something like Bodachan A Gharaidh by the Battlefield Band or Islay's Charms by Deaf Shepherd or Clueless by Wolfstone, you'll hear very skilled musicians at their best coming together to make a complex, yet pleasant, sound that interweaves traditional Scottish folk music with newer ideas and themes.
