I have some real rabbit fur standing by for another sporran, so I say go for it....although.....a fur bed spread sounds kinda cool! 
yeah but im 6'7'' so mine would have to be freaking huge, but im thinking over the next 2 years i could have enough to make it. very warm im thinking, i have a rabbit sporran at the moment white fur, and it does shed
