I really don't know if I will become a "kilt maker" to be honest. Why limit my self?
I'd like to wake up and do something new every day. I do have a bit of a plan making garb and what not to sell at the ren faires.
I need to get studying on the sewing machine stuff. I have the book. Need to make time and get to looking.
I do have idea for kilts though. Odd ideas maybe, stuff that will really push the boundries of what a kilt is. I believe I could make an air conditioned kilt that uses passive evaporation through the use of clever fabrics that would be a good 5 to 10 degrees cooler under the kilt than the outside ambient temp. I also have ideas on tropical weight kilts and how to have the wind pass through the kilt and cool rather than pass around the kilt and lift it.
And then there is my whole Hawaiian Jacobite shirt thing. Ah yeah. Or maybe a leather Jacobite Shirt. Bamboo. Soy Silk. Hemp. Hemp and silk blends.
Of course, no matter how you try, I will not talk about the Elvis Kilt I have rattling around inside me skull.
