You know I would think the opposite would be true. At least when wearing tartan in a kilt there is a much higher chance that the average passerby would get the Scottish connection and recognize it as Highland dress. I believe trews, especially stateside, would be far less likely to be seen as such. Therefore it requires even more gumption to wear them.
Trews aren't my thing*, but bully for those that wear them and wear them well.
Isn't the main difference between trews and regular pants is that trews have a much higher rise?
