Sorry I couldn't make it....too much to do and to little time. Ended up staying at work until past 3.

Anyone take some photos of the gathered rabble?

Looks like an amazing workmanship. Congratulations. I also like the tartan very much.

Lovely pics, and a smart looking kilt, and a nice picturesque backdrop.
I don't know what it is about black hose but they always look rather sheer in photos - I find the same with my black hose from Brewins of Leicester.

Honestly,I don't know either. Its just one of the oddities of photography (like the amazing shiifting of greens-> as can be EASILY seen in various photos of the 60s Team Lotus race cars).

Recently, my wife a music teacher at an elementary/grammar school, did a program on Japanese music. As part of the decor, she had made a Japanese flag out of 2 overlapped strips of white fabric and a large red disk/sun. In person, it looked like one large white sheet. Yet, on the camera (and video) the overlap was painfully blatant and looked rather bad. When watching the video (converting to DVD), she got upset and asked if it looked THAT bad. I had to cosole her and explain, though I don't think she fully believes me.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'll be wearing it again today (with a different combo).

Aside-> the shirt combo is a personal thing involving Good Friday (sin and blood symbolism). Green looks REALLY good with the kilt too. At the tartan museum I got some light blue hose they had on clearance. They look SMASHING with those red flashes, which are some of my home-made types (using the aforementioned (in another post) cotton woven ribbon that I use on my own hat edges). I fringed the ends in after I got back home, a marked improvement.

Now, to make a balmoral that matches that tartan. What color should the body, trim, and toorie be . . .
I'll use some of the waist band scrap too make a badge backing. HUMMMM, what to use as a badge. (I need to go shopping for a cresent and palmetto -our state flag- keychain, pin, or something.)
