    Atlanta Cutlery Review

well I saw a post in the DIY section about sgain making, it was talking about the blade from Atlanta cutlery. Well, lucky day for me, that was the night before I left for a spring break vacation from (frozen) cincinnati to (sunny warm) Atlanta. I was able to talk the parrents into it, and we went to the Atlanta cutlery showroom.

The show room isn't all that big, but it is filled with knives swords everything a teenager (who is obsessed with anything midevil) loves. The had a large display of Airsoft guns, (of which my father bought one[ingram mac 10]). I was very suprized and very happy with their employee, (who I am pretty sure his father was an owner because he is one of the people pictured on the front of their catolog), but I went strait up and asked for a blde blank for the sgain dubh and he corrected my pronounciation, and then asked if I wanted it in high carbon or demaskis (sp?) I got one of each. after he brought that out I was going to look around their armour section but he automatically says, did you see the sporrans we have on display? - SWEET. I was also really happy to see that they carry kilts, they only had 2 tartans, wallace and something else, but they had mostly some that looked like utilikilt knockoffs.

well I got my some sgains, but I held off on the sporrans, they weren't that great of quality. and If I am going to spend 75 on a sporran, I want on that is hand made.

as for the rest of their stuff, I loved it it was full of all the different higher quality costumes, they had a huge display of helmets and everything, (finally got my hands on some of the lord of the rings stuff ) the guy had no objection handing me anything, which suprized me, I am only 17 and usually you have to be 18 to hold knives and swords and stuff. But he opened any case and handed me anything (even the full sized all metal M4 carbine)

all in all I give it a good rating. friendly and fun.
if you have a chance, stop in there!!!

(appology for anything horribly misstyped, I am in the lobby of the hotel I am staying in and they have crappy computers...)

Way to go, dude! With a blade blank, it's all a matter of figuring out what you want and working at it until it gets "right." I've got my eye on some of the Atlanta Cutlery sgian dubh blanks. Your success will encourage me!

I've purchased blades from them over the 'Net several times with nary a problem. Shipping's pretty quick, too.
