It doesn't get more formal than this

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to announce the unveiling of the Bonnie Price Mowgli jacket and waistcoat. With the help and insiration of Panache, I purchased and second-hand tailcoat and vest from a Formal rental outfit in Portland for $80. Secondly , I ordered hand-cast pewter buttons from Three Feathers Pewter for $20 or so.
I have a friend (named Bonnie) that does seamstress and alteration work on the side so I took the whole pile to her. I verbally layed out what I was looking for and she agreed to do it.
When I picked it up, I was due to leave for an Alaskan cruise the next day, so it had to be right. When I saw the tails, I was a bit shocked. I wasn't specific enough. I told her to round the tails, but meant only on the outside and she rounded them all the way round. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. Like Panache offered, this wasn't an attempt to duplicate a Price Charlie, but to create a unique formal kilt jacket. I like it!
So, here it is - the Bonnie (for the seamstress) Prince Mowgli Jacket and Waistcoat.

From the back...

With my beloved...

Thanks to Panche for your help.

A great looking jacket and vest. By the way, is that the MacDonald of Glencoe tartan you're wearing ?
The Kilt is my delight !

Here is a Formal Isle of Skye shot for you, out front of Roy Thomson hall, with my Mom and a Drum Major from the 48th Highlanders, who knows my old bagpipe instructor.
