Hmmm... People still replying to this? Wow.
I should probably give an update about this whole situation.
So, I sat her down and had that chat I mentioned. Come to find out that the main reason she picks on me about wearing a kilt is because she knows she can usually get away with it. She said that she didn't like me wearing it because it's a solid black AmeriKilt and she says it looks too much like a womans skirt, I showed her a couple of tartans that I'm thinking over and she seemed to like the idea of wearing tartans over solid colours.
And that's about it as far as how things have progressed...

I kinda figured that it was the solid color.
If you're going to try and make a go of it with this gal, especially since you're bringing a child into this world together, you need to remember one of the most important things. Communication can solve most problems. It's amazing how many times just airing your feelings can solve a problem before it even arises. Oh and also, communication does not mean arguing and hollering at each other.
Best of luck to you my friend.

As I have posted in the past it is better to wear a tartaned kilt as it takes away the obvious questions. This holds especially true for the newcomers as sometimes their a little self concious about their appearence. I have nothing against solid kilts but they often cause a slack jawed stare in the uninformed.
