I dont see where theyd be a problem .In my eyes when you wear the kilt especially if they are a connection to the tartan family or whatever its something to be proud of .Now if you were to sport a Loud McCloud with a sporron with with Gordon dress tartan like Ive been seeing lately I might raise a eyebrow and say huh....?lol

Indeed, you cover both sides and most people shouldn't be getting that close to your belt buckle in the first place to read it

    CT - go for it.

    Entitlements

I disagree that "there is no shch thing as entitlements." They do exist, they simply have no power. For example Clan Donnell consists of me and my daughter. As Clan Chiefton I have made Stillwater'd shadow tartan officially "Donnell." Can I fine you for wearing it? No. Am I "entitled" Yes. Does it mean anything? Nope.

As far as mixing well... I would not wear a McCoy tartan kilt with a Hatfield hose, they would clash. ;)

    In Agreement

I guess I find myself agreeing with Sir Robert. Traditions should be honored and respected where possible.

Though I must say, if I were related to two different clans, I would see there should be room to wear a tartan badge of one of those clans and the badge of the other on the cap. Though I must say some who were knowledgeable would probably wonder. ...and it would certainy tend to muddy the waters.
