Being a Newb, I have made it my goal to get through all 92 pages of this thread as my first choice. This is day two, and I am finally done.

Lots of good advice here and I hope to not make any of the mistakes herein. If I ever get pictures of meself in my kilt, I will be sure and post 'em.

Off to look for that newbie thread to formally introduce myself!

Agreed. The poor man was clearly being used as a pack animal, which is the fate of all married men.

At the recent cup final a great many Spaniards tried their hand at kilt wearing.
While I say Kudos to them for trying, here's a great example of some of the mishaps.
Aside form the polka-dotted disasters, we have another backwards kilt.
Oh well, it was all in fun and I spoke to a few decent blokes who are now considering getting their own kilts.

I know a lot of guys who wear tails at Ren Faire's and festivals...

This particular person is wearing Satyr horns, as well; so I imagine he is going for a certain look/persona.

OK, I may regret asking this, but......
I see guys wearing tails like that for years, generally with kilts, at faires and cons, even saw a couple at the games last week. I never really gave it any thought (other than it looks dumb IMO ) So in referance to the statement above about being "cuckolded", unless you are talking about the "wearing of horns", Is there some meaning about this affectation in faire culture that I am unaware of?

    ghillies comment....

the design came from the old ghillies worn by the highlanders. kind of a scottish moccasin, ye ken? i think the hard modern ones look terrible, but i wear the old fashioned soft ones most of the time with my kilt. and i wear my kilt to work every day. i also run the laces up my leg to just below my knee. they help keep the sgian in place and for those rare occasions when i wear the great kilt in cold weather they keep leg wrappings in place.
