If you get tired of Sedona head up 89A to Jerome and chow down at the Haunted Hamburger/Jerome Palace and poke around the shops and old mines.
If you want an even more fun ride, head up 89A and when you hit the summit (just after a stone wall on the left) there's a huge parking lot and a dirt road (left side) that heads up Mt. Mingus. Follow it all the way past Camp Mingus to the summit and there may be hang gliders flying off the top. They were thick last weekend. Beautiful place up there and a great view of the Verde Valley.
Closest kilties I know of to Sedona are down in Flagstaff. Prescott Highland Games were last weekend too.

I can't say I've ever been to the Haunted Hamburger, but is the English Kitchen still there, Ron? Reportedly that is the oldest restaurant in Arizona.
I love Jerome -- and the Verde Valley. I'd recommend stopping at Cottonwood, Clarkdale and then driving over to Camp Verde. If you like historical sites, there are a number in the Valley, including Ft. Verde, Tuzigoot and Montezuma's Castle & Well.
Someday I'll get back...
T.
