Excellent pics, Daz. The Princess Elizabeth sometimes goes out on the main line and I have travelled behind her from Carlisle. Looks like you had an enjoyable time on the East Lancashire Railway; its a couple of years since I've been on that one. Most of the heritage/tourist railways in the north of England now hold an annual forties weekend - I went to the Tanfield Railway's event last year. This coming weekend War in Weardale is on at Stanhope but I don't think I'll make it as our local Highland Games are this Saturday. It is quite common to see kilted Black Watch re-enactors at these events as there are a group of them based in the north-east of England.
