    Fez like headgear was very popular in the UK in Victorian times, both in the military and civilian. Crimean War and Egyptian fashion influences.
    Worn slightly tilted...like a glengarry.

    fez yes, tie maybe not

    My suggestion is to wear the fez but substitute a solid or subtly patterned or striped necktie for the tartan one. I think that the tie is too busy with the kilt and the fez.
