The thing is it is not grey. Uniforming policy is printed clearly in black and white.

If I remember correctly Irish troops can wear the saffron kilt and Scottish troops may wear their tartan. But that is not Boy Scouts of America.

I am not attacking the boy. I am just trying to guide him in my clumsy way.
I appologise if I offended anyone.
I don't think this is appropriate for the forum so this is my last post.

As a former Scout - I only made it as far as Life - I kind of agree with the majority in saying that kilting is fine for class "B" uniform, and for functional scouting (ie: events, high adventure, camping, camporee, etc.) I don't really think that it's appropriate for an eagle board of review. To me, that is a uniform event. Wear the kilt with the uniform with pride, but this once, I think you're safer bet is your class "A" uniform.

Good luck with your BOR, and like Nick said, make sure and post how it went!

Thanks all on the advice. I did read through the book on uniforms.
Thanks for all the direction pointing, and to answer some statements on the 2nd page, the biggest problems at my meetings, is, I am the only one who has ever done this. I am probably the only one they have ever seen in a kilt.

now, I think that it would be a wise thing to say enough with the non-sense of this "argument".

    so as a closer to this I would like to say;
thanks for all the encouragement for my BOR

    And
    The project details:
I am a senior in highschool, the elementary school I went to is almost 70 years old. They do no upkeep. (which is a shame because it is a nice school) but I rebuilt the court yard. I built a new storage shed, one that wouldn't rust and fall in on its self. and I just did some general landscaping.

and since this is the picture forum, I think it might be ok to post some pics of my project.

    Before:

    After:

well those really aren't after pics, I don't have those on the net, but they are the pics from the work days. and yes, I finished the shed in a SOLID color. ;)

OK I said I wasn't going to post any more but this is different.

That looks like a terrific project. You should be proud!

Only posting to say I sit on our district Eagle BOR Committee. Most if not all districts in our council have written policy on what a Scout can and can't have for his BOR. One of the top 5 things
Scouts appearing for their Eagle BOR must wear a complete Dress Uniform (formerly known as the Class "A") meeting the requirements of BSA Publication 34283A available for download in PDF format from scouting.org
For Activity uniforms (formerly known as Class "B") kilts are great!
Hope that helps. As others have said, check on it before you wear it. We have turned Scouts away from their Boards for wearing jeans or flip-flops.

Good Luck! From the look of the project you've earned it.

That's what we had when I was a scout in the 70s. Looked great with the neckerchief, lousy without it.

You might also want to read some of this site

Personally, I think you look fine, but for a review try to get some 'formal' hose.
If you don't have any, get a pair of dark green soccer socks and they will usually work just as well. And try a pair of more formal shoes. Just black dress shoes are usually fine.
Then you'll look pretty smart and you have pictures from the above to use as a precedent for it being O.K. Scouting attire.

    Good luck!
Just thought I would post this picture here a well, my dad in his Scottish Scouts uniform:
