Welcome to the forum, Bruce. I like that Marjoribanks tartan. Is it a family-registered tartan? Never heard of the clan.

To be honest I don't know enough yet about clans, families and such to know if it is registered or not. As I was doing some research on my family I found a document (from Scotland by the Yard?) that showed Marjoribanks as a surname of clan Johnson which is how I wound up with that tartan first. Googling the Marjoribanks name results in some interesting stuff, such as:

"The name Marjoribanks is associated with Lady Marjorie Bruce, the daughter of King Robert the Bruce and is derived from lands near the village of Lochmaben in Dumfriesshire which were called terre de Marjoriebankis in Lady Marjorie's honour."

After yet more googling brought me to the family tartan at http://www.scotclans.com/clans/Marjoribanks/tartan.html. And I have to be honest and say that I really, really like that tartan. Must be in the genes...
