I contacted Higgins and they have ceased production of tartan hose and only offer stock diced ones ... I require a royal/black and a royal/orange pair (for me, the others for a friend) of diced hose, so I need a custom service.
I'm thinking of going with Tartanthistle.com, as the prices seem reasonable and the proprietor took time to answer my questions.

The "special offer" section from the "House of Tartan" has some relatively affordable tartan hose.
The quality is very good...I own a pair.

Very cool site, however there's nothing to suit me. I need one pair royal/black diced, and one pair royal/Orange diced. The new tartan has Royal blue, Orange, black and purple, in order quantity of each colour in the kilt. Not very easy to find ready-made products to match!
