    Yet another FC review

I'd been looking at Frugal Corner for a bit and then they posted the Memorial Day special. I was thinking of something lighter with the heat and humidity here in San Antonio. As a result, I ordered a 13 oz with a 38 waist. The kilt arrived in good order and in under a week. The only downside was that the kilt was too big in the waist. Things can get mislabeled so I sent off a quick e-mail. I got back a list of tartans in both 13 and 16 oz that were left and switched to a 16 oz. I went with the Buchanan since the goodwife said I needed a bit of color variation in my kilts. Inside the box with the new 16 oz kilt was a hand written note detailing a couple of discounts that eliminated the price difference between the 13 and 16 oz. I am well pleased with the customer service I've gotten from them.

Now the kilt. Pics will be in the photo forum.
The construction is solid and the colors crisp and bright. The hole on the left for the strap to pass through is a tight fit but it is fine. I took off the lower belt and buckle since I prefer it that way. The kilt has 28 pleats that are 2.8 inches deep. The reveal varies from .9 inch to 1.1 inch. I took the kilt and a couple of others to the office and weighed them since folks have been asking about the weight.
Frugal Corner kilt - 2.6 lbs
    SWK Heavyweight - 3.0 lbs
    Barb T made Tank - 3.7 lbs

The kilt was complimented by a piper with the San Antonio Pipe and Drum band as well as a little old lady in WalMart. The day was about 85 with high humidity and the kilt was comfortable. The pleats held up well with the driving around town we did. Overall, a good inexpensive kilt for knocking around town that still looks good. I'm very likely to do business with them again.

    YMOS,
    Tony
