As for recognizing each other - if it's anywhere near as hot up there as it is here down in the dusty broiler that is Phx-metro, I may contemplate wearing as little as possible (in a clean way!!)

Maybe you could take the airport shuttle to Flag and back...or the bus...or even fly if you're wealthy.

Still planning on being there and hopefully my daughter and the grandkids will be there too.

If you took alternative transportation to get to Flag, I'd get you to the site, and back to transportation point.

I see that Oceans Apart will be playing there. Be sure to stop by and listen to them. They were at Long's Peak last year and are great.

Just looked up their website www.oceansapartmusic.com and was treated to a lovely pic of an Isle of Skye tartan kilt....

But I can't figure which guy is John and which is Steve.

Hey all. I'm a member of NACHS, the group that puts this festival on. This will be our tenth, so we're all pretty excited. I am going to be jumping all over the place as this year I am in charge of the NACHS tent, the "Plants and Geology of the Celtic Regions" tent, and all the workshops. I'll be doing the workshops on salt which will be taking place two times on Saturday (11 and 4). We've got a really good line up of workshops, and I'm really excited about the quality of the volunteers I have in the plant and geology tent, so be sure to stop by. If you are going to be bringing young ones, be sure they don't miss the special pirate shows in the Kid's Area. I'll be wearing my Ulster box-pleated kilt and I'll have a goofy "volunteer lanyard". I look forward to meeting some of you all, either at the festival or at the downtown parties we'll be having Friday and Saturday night.

Unfortunately I will NOT be attending these games, though I had hoped to.

I am having a minor surgery the week before (fixing a deviated septum) and the doctors advise I should avoid any strenuous activity for three weeks. I will be at the Pleasanton games instead.

I'm am so looking forward to getting out of this oven called Phoenix & immersing myself in Celtic culture in the cool pines of Flagstaff!

I'm coming up Friday evening, got my 2 nights reservation at the Travelodge on East Butler & I'm looking forward to everything from the Whisky tasting on Friday night to the full 2 days of the Festival to the Ceilidh on Saturday night - I want it all, man!

Ialtog, you & the rest of the NACHS put on one great festival! That's why this is my 4th consecutive year to attend. I've attended all the Highland Games that are put on in Arizona throughout the year & I think the Flagstaff Festival is the best of all of them - of course, the setting adds a lot, but the way the festival is laid out, the entertainment, the workshops, just the whole package is great! Good on ya, lads & lasses!!!

Thank you, Retro Red. I really had no idea how hard it was to put on a festival before I started volunteering. My hat is off to ALL of you out there working on your own local festivals. We are really lucky to have some first rate officers in NACHS and just a ton of fantastic volunteers. It makes me awfully proud to live in a community with such an active number of citizens.
