Well I have been wondering what was going on with the production that I mentioned so I went to the mob film co. to see what is going on with it and I signed up for news about it here is what they say about the film:

Title - Burns

Budget - $10m

Genre - Period Drama

Pitch - Robert Burns is Scotland’s Bard. He didn’t write the poem about the spider.
That was Robert The Bruce. But he did write ‘Auld Lang Syne’.
He was voted Scotland’s most famous son in just about every Scottish publication
at the millennium and his birth is celebrated in suppers across the globe every year on
January 25th.

Burns is the working title for one period of Robert Burns’ life, roughly 1785-90.
It is not a biopic, but rather an epic love story, a ‘Burns and his women’ or
Scottish Shakespeare In Love.

Writer - Alan Sharp

Director - Vadim Jean

Producers - Andrew Boswell, Vadim Jean, and Ian Sharples

Cast -

Gerard Butler- (Robert Burns)

Julia Stiles- (Jean Armour)

John Hannah- (Gavin Hamilton)

Brian Cox- (James Armour)

Kelsey Grammer- (William Craig)

David O’Hara- (Deacon Brodie)

James McAvoy- (Robert Ainslie)

James Cosmo- (Reverend Auld)

Kathleen McDermott- (Jenny Clow)

Robert Cavanah- (Gilbert Burns)

David Hayman- (Reverend Kemp)

I hope this one goes through as it would be nice to see on screen, and yes I am aware of the film with Johnny Depp but as Todd says that was a long while ago, as it is this one from Mob Film co. is getting a wee bit long in the tooth.
