Hi Jimmy,
Two weeks ago, I was driving along the road that follows Loch Lomond (en route from Dumfries to Connel by Oban). It was a rare, for this year,
sunny day and, having crossed the Erskine Bridge, I stopped at Balloch to stretch my legs:

I could see Balloch Castle across the loch from where I stopped and a few minutes after resuming the journey, I passed the golf course you mention. There were signs everywhere advertising the Loch Lomond Highland Games and I remember wishing I could have been in the area this weekend rather than back home in deepest Sussex - maybe, however, I did the right thing as we had a dry day and I was able to do a little gardening!!
