			Amtrak "moon" festival

This morning, my wife and I were watching Fox news, and there was a story about a "Moon" festival. As we were watching the story, the camera panned to the amtrak train station and there were several men (more then 4 I believe), wearing kilts. Up until this point, I had no idea what a moon festival was, I am beginning to think that as the train goes by, everyone in a widow seat puts a pressed ham against the glass.

Somebody mentioned this "festival" in another thread yesterday. They actually sell out train seats for this! Maybe we ought to try this in the great white north

I believe that the Amtrak train and its passengers get mooned by the people on he side of the tracks. Take a look at:

Sounds like a real "class act"....I hope the kilted participants wouldn't mind if I suggested that they not sully the image of the kilt by choosing some other garment to wear when they participate in this display of immaturity.

A few years ago we took a "rail cruise" on the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff, Alberta to Vancouver BC. It's a two day trip and you stop for the night in Kamloops. It seemed that the entire population of the town was lined up along the tracks to give us a "proper" welcome.

Relax a little man. These aren't highschool kids on the freeway overpass. This is a festival specifically for this particular event. Everyone there is there because they want to be, and expect this very thing. Might as well get mad for a kilted man doing something in his own house.

Don't know about California, but many years ago the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that "mooning" wasn't indecent exposure.
A hospital group had taken a raft trip down the Grand Canyon. A skit at night was done to the tune of Moon River and ended with a mooning. A couple folks were offended and filed charges or something...worked its way to the supreme court of Arizona.

I think a kilt would be one of the most convenient ways to accomplish the desired mooning without risking frontal exposure.

Part of what you're buying into wearing a kilt is the reputation for doing just this kind of thing, in war or peace, sorry.

I hope our UK rabble can support me in saying that, while it is not condoned, it is not at all unexpected.

It's just another part of the mystery of the kilt.

I'm not likely to ever do that, but nobody believes me when I say so.

I'll link a wee picture that I hope is too small to offend the mods but will show what I mean. (And mods, I really believe this is too small to cause a problem but if it does, I have no problem with you removing it altogether and I'll say sorry to have caused you trouble.)

And did the actors in Braveheart sully the kilt when they mooned their enemies?
 I think not.
