Sounds good to me.

My condolences.

(So, what are the plans for the "old" one )
He said it was given to him on the street, so it might not be the highest quality. I haven't seen anything but the pict, but it is obviously screen printed, not appliqued/sewn-of-multiple-fabrics.

Here in the UK it's relatively rare to see flag flying in private homes, we tend to leave that to public and official buildings. And even then PC can get in the way.
An amazing contrast to my visits to the USA and Canada where flags fly proudly outside so many homes.
I wish more over here would fly flags.

I quite agree with you on this one, Trefor. Like you, I am struck by the profusion of flags that homeowners fly everytime I visit North America.
The main reason why we do not do this in the UK, I am told, is because of the usual need for Planning Permission to be given by our Local Authorities before we may put out, or up, flagpoles. I was thinking about displaying some flags during the Storrington Gathering next June, but have been advised that I would not be granted permission for the pole(s)!!!!! It is the poles that are the problem, not the flags. Huh!

Then they must go back to Warsaw if they can't behave themselves.

(It is more some back-and-forth between Todd and I based on earlier postings, a GOOD while back. No divisiveness intended, just "ribbing.")
By the way, Todd is getting the flag in the picts above.
On flags,
I gave a number and 3 flag poles, one in front and 2 hanging off my back deck. I am a bit of a flag addict and an amateur "vexiologist" (one who studies flags), because flags are the symbols people use to identify themselves and display in prominence. The color-bearers were the ones that PUT DOWN their guns (swords, axes, or hammers in times past) and hold a POLE as they charged into battle. Flags are SO much more than the sum of their parts. How they came into being, what they mean (specific intended symbolism), and how they developed/evolved/changed over time is VERY interesting to me, as well as the art of construction, design, and simple beauty.
In short, a flag is a scrap of cloth that one would DIE for, not for the cloth itself, but for what it embodies.
THAT just FACINATES me!

Todd has me wondering if mine is the right shade of blue. It's darker than Alex's, but lighter than the blue in the Stars & Stripes or the Butcher's Apron.
Hmmm.

Hmmm.
There was a debate in the Scottish Parliament about this a few years ago and they decided that the correct shade of blue was to be Pantone 300 (whatever that is). Here is a link for those interested - http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=210112003

Planning permission for poles is the planning system gone mad! (It is anyway but that's another matter.)
However when it comes to "temporary" structures one can circumnavigate the system. The polythene tunnels that dot the landscape are a proof of this as they may be up for a large part of the year but they are still "temporary."
Using poles for an event lasting a couple of days is unlikely to attract their wrath Hamish.
