Here in the UK it's relatively rare to see flag flying in private homes, we tend to leave that to public and official buildings. And even then PC can get in the way.
An amazing contrast to my visits to the USA and Canada where flags fly proudly outside so many homes.
I wish more over here would fly flags.

I quite agree with you on this one, Trefor. Like you, I am struck by the profusion of flags that homeowners fly everytime I visit North America.
The main reason why we do not do this in the UK, I am told, is because of the usual need for Planning Permission to be given by our Local Authorities before we may put out, or up, flagpoles. I was thinking about displaying some flags during the Storrington Gathering next June, but have been advised that I would not be granted permission for the pole(s)!!!!! It is the poles that are the problem, not the flags. Huh!
