While the shawl collar in itself is probably fine, my bigger aversion to the ones on uniformal are that they are tailored to be buttoned. The PC is tailored to be worn unbuttoned.

PC's can be rented from several places at decent rates. I found several places when I was planning my cruise that offered "cruise packages".

The other consideration is that "Formal Night" on a cruise is typically going to be a lot of dark suits instead of the Black Tie we see in the old movies. If you were to pick up a dark jacket from a thrift store and have it tailored, you would look better than a majority of the people on the cruise and have a versatile jacket you can wear for many other occasions after the cruise as well.

Also keep in mind that the dress codes for the various cruise nights are only suggestions. I wore a suit and tie on the formal and semi-formal nights. Honestly half the people there didn't bother.

    Kilted Brothers,

I appreciate the thoughts, opinions, and advice. I will be working on my Bride an see if I can win her cooperation on this project.

    Cheers to all,
"..., and wrote upon it - In memory of our God, our religion, and our freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children...." Alma 46:12
