Just a few weeks away!!!
Yes this is a bump to remind all that the games is just around the corner.
There is plenty to do and see and of course local kilt makers MacHummel (Peter) of Canadian Casual Kilts and Canuck (Robert Pell) of R-Kilts.
Loads of pipe bands, the heavies, over 900 dancers, close to or over 100 vendors, food and a large SOKS brigade and nighttime entertainment including the Mudmen on Saturday night.
There is still a Thursday concert but it has been made in an annual dedication concert (in John Allen Cameron name) for Cancer research and our local hospital fund. This year will feature Jan Arden. I was hoping this would be a more Celtic event but it is what it is. I hope the Fergus Games is not going to blow the entertainment budget every year on this and short the nightly entertainment at the nightly pub. They all pay for good entertainment too and have been somewhat shortchanged this year. The Mudmen to me are the only quality act to be booked and just for the Saturday. Poor if you ask me when much smaller highland games in Canada (including Kincardine) and the U.S book not just one good band but a number for the weekend. It wasn't long ago that the bands were great all weekend from 7:00 pm to close at 1:00. The last few have seen the headliners being great but ever other band opening for them was sub-par.
Regardless it will be a great weekend,
hope to meet up with a few of you at the games or at the CCK booth with Pete.
See you in a few weeks
Kilted Stuart

Still going to be there Saturday. Some developments this last week prevent me from enjoying everyone's company all weekend.
For those who check the Calendar, the dates and link have been added.

Looking forward to this one. Are we going to have a practice kilt night prior to this?

Maybe a Hamilton area Kilt Night as a practice run for Fergus? Any ideas?

We could go to that little pub near the Scottish rite, where the waitress had the kilt on, can't remember the name but you know where it is. I gotta make sure my new kilt is ready first though.

Kinda small. It was in Hess Village and if I recall had an Irish name.

something dangerous there when the only thing you remember about a place is the waitress with a kilt on...
If I started a sentence like that within my wife's hearing.....

OK anyone else have any ideas about where and when we should meet up next? Do we still want to do a kilt night before Fergus?

Maxville! there will be kilts,... a beer tent that holds 5000, a chance for Grant to get kilt checked...meaning better odds 1 in 2000 ladies drinking beer might be persuaded to help him in this matter.
Other than that there isn't much time.
