    Correction...its the official colors of Mardi Gras EVERYWHERE, as deemed by Rex, King of Carnival in 1872. In 1892 they were given meanings: Green=faith, Purple=justice, Gold=power.

    There is no official Mardi Gras tartan, but I was playing around one day and created one on the computer. Be sure to shade your eyes before looking:

    Really a nice looking tartan. I didn't realize one existed for Louisiana. I'm glad I looked at this thread. I was born, raised and married in Louisiana.
