    What does it mean to be complete? At first blush, I'd think that how we drape our person has nothing to do with "completeness."

    Besides comfort, wearing a kilt doesn't give you anything that you don't already have. You may be a bit more aware of those particular aspects of yourself, but they were already there in you. And you knew it all along. This awareness will fade much like the first scent of coffee in the morning fades. It's still there but you can no longer smell it.

    Why do you suppose the military makes such a big deal about uniforms?

    I don't think it's for completeness. The "Complete" man is independent and so exercises his own free will. That is counter to the general military where men are almost always part of a unit. The uniform is simply a tool that the military uses to reduce individuality and independence and to encourage a sense of membership and cohesion with members of his unit.

    Since I am no longer in the military, I can be an independent man. That independence is a greater part of my "completeness" than how I dress can ever be.
