So, our little town is having a health fair today and the blood folks came up to take donations. This is my 73rd pint, trying to beat my grandmother's record of ten gallons. Working on my 10th gallon now.

Have often donated kilted before, the techs remember me, its a fun process. Here wearing my USA Kilts Casual in Cladish tartan with my buffalo sporran from Miss April's Carpetbags.



Best part of the day is that our agency also had a booth at the health fair and my supervisor was manning it alone. He needed to leave for more supplies so I watched the booth for him while he was gone. When he came back a guy came up and said he had three kilts himself and went on and on and on about his heritage in a most positive manner. Then one of the high school teachers, who is LDS like my supervisor, asked me if I played the bagpipes. She's wanting to start kids bagpiping in town. She is just back from a trip to Navoo, Illinois (a historic deal for LDS folks) and said that kilts and bagpipes were a big thing there and that the young men were amazing her with their dedication to piping and wearing their clan kilts. Apparently there's a gathering there. Anyway, referred the teacher to Thompson's bagpipe store/school in Flagstaff and supported her observation about how cool young men think kilts are.

Then the Juvenile Probation Officer in town stopped by, he's of Scot blood and always talking about getting a kilt.

So in the space of about a half hour my supervisor is hearing three very strong and very positive stories about kilts - one telling him his church is in the midst of a kilt boom of sorts. Important to me since he's the late comer in my at work kilt controversy and his first reactions were less than positive and seemed to be along the lines of what he guessed his church would want.

A good day for sure. Hope I've been appropriate with the mention of religion for this situation.
