			Forum Name

I find it very interesting reading the on-line names of forum members. Some I would not even begin to try and pronounce. So I thought for the long weekend it might be interesting to discover the reasons members chose their names.
Meeting me, my name is self-explanatory. "Big", I'm 6'2" and about 300 lbs, "Mikey", my given name is Michael but I've always been Mike to friends and family. THEN that darn cereal commercial came along. "Give it to Mikey, he'll drink anything! Give it to Mikey, he'll wear anything! Give it to Mikey.....", anyway, you get the idea.

I think the biggest shock to me was when my 70+ year old dad started calling me "Mikey".

So there's my story, now, how about you?
 Gentleman of Substance

My forum name, "demobud", I have actually had for many years. My nickname is "Buddy" (the unfortunate product of being raised in the South ) and I have been in the demolition industry for about twenty years so the two sort of melded together... So I guess a just your "kilted demolition Buddy".

Hmmmm, interesting topic. Splash-4 has a long sordid name. It comes from the time when I used to help design wargames (anyone remember avalon hill??) One of the games I helped beta test was called Air Superiority and Air Strike. These games simulated Air to Air combat on paper. Splash-4 came about when during a match, I had 4 Aim-9m missiles fail to ignite.
Not as interesting as some, but still has more meaning to me than some other things I have been called (like MAC when I was in the air force)
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Mine kinda grew from my Call Sign back in my flying days. I was awarded the Call Sign "Mr. Wizard" because I have the knack to teach even complex subjects like aerodynamics in a way that everyone can understand. Then I came up here to Canada and "Oh my, I'm not in Kansas anymore."
So, The Wizard of BC was born.
