Maybe if everyone was more apt to "teaching a punk a lesson" for being blatantly disrespectful for various reasons, people may be more likely to keep their ignorant mouths shut. Maybe if Troy would have just spanked the little punk, like he obviously needed, he would think better before doing it again? Not a very "politically correct" thing to say, I know. But whats worse, a culture of spoiled brats thinking they can do and say what ever they want to people, while the others just ignore or whine about it? Or a culture where if you step out of line, someones gunna give you a swift kick in the pants for acting like a little punk. The guy was out of line, a lesson should have been taught. Pretty much, lets face it, the culture where everyone gets along and treats everyone with respect, where we all live in harmony with various cultures isnt going to happen any time soon. We as a culture didnt get to where we are in the world being passive nice people, but we'll sure loose our place at the table fast being that way. Just a little reality. If Wallace had just ignored things and turned his head the other way, then the punks comment wouldnt have been out of line would it?
I was coming out of a pizza shop, with my hands full of pizzas. This kid was sitting on top of a pinball machine, somewhat behind the door (in a blind area). When I came thru the door, I barely bumped his leg, with the door. Being brought up to be courteous, I said "sorry" to this young man. His response: Looked right at me and shouted: "F you, A-hole!" , then laughed with his little buddies.
This instantly enraged me. His actions were completely unjustifiable. (If I hadn't said "sorry" to him, he probably wouldn't have even noticed being bumped) I put my pizzas down, and asked "Say What?"
"Oh... What are you gonna do old man?" "Touch me and you go to jail!"
His buddies chime in with: "What's your problem, Dude?", etc.
Great... mouth-off to me, and then hide behind the law.
This sawed-off runt & his buddies were probably 15ish, and half my size. Obviously have no respect... self or otherwise.
I looked at all of them, and barked "You're basing your future on a bunch of 'ifs'. If this gets reported... If the cops call upon me... If I go to trial ...." "Your mommies & daddies might sue me, but rest assured you WILL have your a** kicked now!" "Your choice... decide now."
They walked away.
Weeks later, in the small town I lived in, I saw this same bunch... they were perfectly courteous.

My point is: I don't advocate violence, but sometimes just walking away is condoning bad behavior.
