    Gilmore

Mine is my given name, one of my grandparent's names, descended from a Thomas Gilmore, born in Scotland in 1734, and emigrated to Cumberland County, North Carolina.

His son, James Gilmore, born there in 1755, was somewhat unusual in that unlike most Cumberland County Scots who were Loyalists, he sided with the rebels/patriots/Americans, and became a sergeant in the Continental army. He thus became part of a tradition of unruliness. I do not have even one ancestor who, ever since they came to America before the Revolution, bore arms in defense of his country. When they did go to war, it was to overthrow the government, in the Revolution and the Civil War. After the war James won government land in the lottery and moved to middle Georgia, where his descendants still flourish.

THAT all depends on WHAT one defines as "bearing arms in defense of his country" and "overthrow the government,"as in BOTH the cases cited it can be argues that the "rebels" were fighting a preservationist stance rather than that of "overthrower" and disrupter.

Mine is whats on my bike plate since 1986. I chose my name AL instead of my initials AP and 58 is the year of my birth. It's been a useful user name in various forums as i never get the message that it's already taken (which happened often when i used to try and use TwoDogs). Why do you ask?

    Al

Mine is from one of the Campbell lines of my ancestry, the Campbells of Cawdor, my first kilt was in the Campbell of Cawdor tartan.

Since that time I have discovered closer clan ties through Clan Lamont.

Very interesting topic. When my brother and I were little terrors around the house, many years ago, my Dad said we were Oatmeal Savages.
    Cheers

well, my first SN was RealJuggalo.

I used to define myself as a Juggalo before anything else. After having kids, things change. After a while, i didn't define myself as a juggalo or anything else. just as myself. i think i grew out of my HardCore Juggalo phase. Oh, i;m still a juggalo. but i don't need to wear ICP t-shirts 5 times a week to show it. i think of juggaloism as a self-affirming, positive mindset where you don't let others bring you down because you don't fit "the norm." Be different. (Forget) everyone else. Do your own thing no matter what it is.

with that in mind, i was a juggalo BEFORE i knew what a juggalo was. i've never cared what anyone thought about me, the negative stuff that is.

After a while, i didn't need the name RealJuggalo.

my current SN reflects my tattoo of a Green Dragon. i can't remember where 256 comes from.
