Hmm. I had a review of their 16oz kilt package here, and at that time I mentioned that they sent the wrong size. Ordered and paid May 20th. Rec'd about 3 weeks later, but a size too large, with a different sporran than the one ordered (albeit an upgraded version) and a belt buckle that wasn't to my liking (it was copper, everything else was silver coloured).

Was happy with the quality of what was sent, but with some communication back and forth, 'Sales' Mark was rather accomodating, apologized for the error, and offered the necessary exchanges. Sent it all back a week later. At this point, it seemed that interest in their product really jumped up, and their communication really went downhill.

So, its been nearly 3 months since I sent it all back. Get a response to 1 out of every 3-4 emails, and its usually either Sales Mark asking Shipping Mark if its been handled, or just a single sentence response from Shipping Mark. I THINK that from the short responses i've gotten, that they're waiting for my size/weight from their supplier?

So, yeah.... i'm in the same boat as so many others. Was one of the early ones that was incredibly satisfied with their service and product, and am now also one of the many frustrated with lack of communication. Its not even so much the *4 months* this has all taken from the time of order... but just not knowing WHAT is happening. I've got hose, flashes, sgian, pin, and a belt with no buckle sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

Now, i'm aware of some other outstanding issues. Sales Mark had a melanoma scare/surgery if i'm not mistaken, and Shipping Mark had a funeral that put him out for a while. Also, they got their bank loan to expand their stock and product line (apparently). They were plagued with shipping and order problems from their suppliers. The issues here on XMarks with the mods (taboo topic? Not gonna bother ask what happened). Endless critism from die-hard traditionalists over the origin of their products, website layout, etc. Sure, they got a bunch of business from the people here, but just as much flak. I can see why sticking to eBay sales would be an easier effort....

So, there's the good, bad, and ugly of my experience, and how I see it... still waiting for them to make good on my original order.

I happened to be looking at their web page today, and it looks like they're working to implement an inventory system, where you'll know when you order if your kilt is in stock. I hope this works out for them.

Frugal Corner DOES have some really nice kilts! The 16 oz is beautiful...full of pleats and just plain incredible!
The 16 oz Clergy tartan from Frugal is my new favorite kilt...it is exceptional! I love it!

I've also noticed that their prices have risen slightly.. I suspect shopping through their ebay store is the way to go.

I also took a gander at their eBay store. They've only got a few kilts up there. While shopping through eBay has the obvious advantages of eBays rules about shipping time and so on, it has the disadvantage of not always having what one wants to purchase.

I think Casper hit the nail on the head--its NOT KNOWING what is happening that is so frustrating. They can (obviously) have problems with filling orders but it would be easy to just drop a quick email explaining the problem and giving an estimate of delivery date. I am still waiting on an order from Aug 2. Did get an email today, very brief, stating they are working on it.

The wait is difficult, but would be bearable if I could be reassured that it is coming sometime. A little explanation would go a long way. I am determined to wait it out, but the NOT KNOWING is the biggest part of the problem.

I agree. I only have a SportKilt, which is comfortable enough in So Cal heat, and a Heavyweight Stillwater, which is way to hot for So Cal right now, so a couple more kilts would be really nice right about now. But, even though it has been three weeks, I have received nothing about my kilts. I f I knew, it would be better, but, as DTrain said, it is the not knowing is the worst part of it.
