From one of the Denver area high schools we have the Overland Park High School Marching Scots. Again, they have been at the games several times over the years and sound great each year. Real good bunch of youngsters...

Along with the bands we have a few hard to place groups so I'll just add them here.
Not sure exactly where they are from but here is a JROTC group.

The USMC also brought one of their race cars. I don't think this one actually races but it has names of all of the Marines that have served in Iraq stenciled on it.

Ver interesting. I just noticed that if you look at the far left of the picture you can see my Dad, wife and Mom. Dad and Joyce are sitting down and Mom is getting ready to.

What an impressive selection of bands, and all to be seen, and heard, at one Highland Games - but I do not understand the presence of so many non-Celtic (in other words, military) elements at such an event. I am wondering what they have to do with Scottish Games or Gatherings.

With so many wonderfully authentic kilted uniforms on view, these 'Brigadoonish' , but colourfully co-ordinated, outfits look strangely out of place to my traditional eyes, but I guess that's just 'me' !

No, Hamish, it's not just you. Those hats forced me to do a double take too. But that's just a High School band. They probably had a couple of parents sew those things together for them.

Of course the sheep are scared. Sheepskin makes great bags for Highland Pipes.
