I should hope I don't have that many financial aid checks coming (not that I'd mind) seeing as this is my eighth year in college.
But the sad thing is, just today I was thinking I should order a SWK thrifty kilt, so I have something for times when I don't want to mess up my SK.
And just now I was looking at USA kilts, since I realized that if I get that black UK workman's I want next semester, I will have 2 black kilts, and that means I must get at least one colorful kilt. I personally prefer to wear solid colors, but that fraser hunting tartan is calling to me...
I'm so screwed.

The kilt addiction hook seems to be set quite deeply for sure. Enjoy it.
Someday, maybe you'll lose count of your kilts...or stand befuddled before a closet of kilts, unable to decide which to wear for the day.
Meantime, good luck with college...I managed to graduate 34 years after I first enrolled....

Well, the kilt arrived today, and I'm just starting to get used to it. I haven't worn it in public yet (I'm waiting until thursday, when all my friends can be surprised at once) but instead I have been trying it on and strutting around the old fortress of solitude.
The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was that the material is a bit stiffer than I had expected. This is good, because it is rather lightweight, and without that wee bit of stiffness I could end up in some legal trouble on a windy day. It also helps it to feel a bit tougher, which is a good thing.
It is a bit longer than I had expected, but still fits just fine. The waist feels quite loose with all the give from the elastic, and it really feels like I'm not wearing a thing. So much so that I get slightly uncomfortable at the thought of wearing it in public as I feel almost naked.
The pleats are quite pretty, and with the solid black it could easily pass for something a lot more formal than I am used to, or just look nice with a T-shirt.
I do have a few minor nits to pick though. Most notably, the front right belt loop is right at the edge of the apron, so if I tighten the kilt, the loop is covered and pushes the apron out in a weird way. Luckily it isn't a problem as long as I don't stretch the elastic when putting it on, but it is annoying.
Also, the hidden pocket is a bit small and hard to access, which I'm hoping will be less of a problem as I get used to it. Since I do not own a sporran (I've never really liked them) I could really use a good place to keep my wallet.
The yellow sportkilt patch will have to go sooner or later, but for now it's actually kind of comforting. It looks like a badge, and with the whole yellow on black thing, it just makes me feel a bit like batman. And if someone ever tries to call it a skirt (an event made all the more likely since it's not in the easily recognizable tartan style) I have it clearly labeled; this is a kilt dammit.
Now I just need to figure out how to work it into my wardrobe. I'm definitely gonna have to rethink things a bit.
Unfortunately I don't have a camera. However, I am an amazingly talented artist, and have drawn a near photo-realistic image of myself in the kilt. Enjoy;

You're sure thats a paintshop pic, it's so realistic!
I was a bit on the fence about my sport kilt when I first got it, but it has a become my go to kilt for everyday running around. I have a works, and the only real problem is that the belt loops I specified are tight on the belt, but that was my mistake not SK's. I cover up the SK logo with the belt if I wear one or I clip my cell phone holster over it if i am going belt less.
