Ha, seeing as you and I are both near the top of the evolutionary process (hairless), I would have photoshopped some hair in.

    Sorry.

My critique is straightforward, I think, three items. I don't like to see a fly plaid, really, at all. But I don't like to see it on a solitary kiltie. The fly plaid is supposed to set you off against others. Only one person in a group should have a fly plaid (e.g., the groom, the host, "himself").
The sporran comes out too bright. When you are lit (pardon me), the sporran is too white. When the sporran is darkened, you're too dark.
No pose really looks comfortable but if you can take more pics, try and get them from belly button/waist height. It gives a better view of you and the kilt. (Also when the waist shot is photoshopped, you don't look like you're leaning forward so it's easier to match perspective with backdrops.) (And take the pics outdoors on a overcast day with a motor drive while you have your head turned slightly, looking to your left. Never mind me, you asked, I'll stop.)

I like the black socks, they balance out your leg's thickness and the overall look works well. I tend not to like flashes so I don't know whether to critique them or not. Most people seem to figure they're important. If the fly is gone, then flashes might not look like too much (to me). How about a single colour flash, say the blue, and a matching flower in the lapel (I know it's got a name, it's late.)

Basically I like it. The shadowing I am still having problems with in any of them.

Yet I do see it as something saying about the author on a book flap.

I'm with Archangel about the fly plaid. I'm not a fan either. And, his points about it are good.

    James

Photo looks good, except it appears your are floating in midair, I would try to leave the floor/ground in the photo to give you a base.
