I only wear my wedding ring to go out nice with the wife, or if I am going out of town to a knife show or something else without her. To wear a ring of any sort (or most any kind of "ornamentation") in the bladesmith shop is to invite disaster. Pockets are trouble too if you are all the time making sparks and scale and hot stuff flying about.
I have been known to stash all manner of kit in my hose tops though. Most anything that will fit comfortably. Cell phone is kinda bulky, but it would work if had good socks, and you have need. Which is after all, the way new things get thought up (or sometime the wheel re-invented, witness all the modern "sporran like" waist bags that abound now).
