A common travel tip is to choose your outfits so that you only need one color scheme for your accessories. It reduces the amount of stuff you have to pack.
Now, since you're driving, and don't have to carry the bags around an airport, you could take a little more. But, you still have to pack and unpack the stuff, so less is better.
Guys I really appreciate all the Great advise, but I wasn't being totally serious here. It was as I started to pull kilts for the trip I wasn't paying attention and then realised I had that many on the bed. I guess it's just difficult to get sarcasm across on a message board sometimes I'm sure I will whittle it down a bit, but hey a guy needs choices 
However I am sure I will still end up with about four on the trip.
