You get what you pay for

There are lots of cheap kilts and sporrans on e-bay and I have bought a few myself. Some of them I have since passed on to others and some I continue to wear casually.
As you say you get what you pay for.
I've seen these Honour of Scotland kilts listed on e-bay but as far as I know the pattern is a fashion check rather than an officially recognised or registered tartan. I don't think the tartan is actually registered. (some of our tartan experts can maybe correct me on that).
It looks good on you for your music practice - wear it with pride.

That tartan looks virtually identical to the Pride of Scotland tartan, which is a proprietary design owned by MacColls of Aberdeen. Unfortunately one of the side effects of having a successful and popular design is that other people try to rip it off. In this case, the tartan looks virtually identical and they likely just changed the name to "Honour of Scotland" to make it sound different.

I wonder why they bothered, though, as most people who have ripped off this design don't even bother changing the name! Ebay is full of "Pride of Scotland" kilts that I guarantee are not made by MacColls (or Lochcarron, who have produced this tartan for MacColls).
