Welcome from Ontario Canada. You've come to the right place for advice and are also proud of our many marines on board. for the leatherneck tartan you could check out Stillwater Kilts or Sportkilt for inexpensive but decent kilts.

Thanks guys. SWK is my first choice. Got the measurements down tonight so it's a matter of funding. And now that I've searched and seen that the beer belly won't make it so bad, it's all downhill.

What life or buying a kilt? Now you have to accesorize that kilt, sporran, kilt pin the list goes on. Now here's a former Marine with four leatherneck kilts considering his kilt pins options. Also when you purchase more kilts later ther is always Steve Ashton former Marine and owner of Freedom Kilts. His web site is down for a day or so but you should put him under favourites and check him out later. And as a welcome bonus the gentleman who designed the leatherneck tartan recently became a member here.

Buying the kilt, but I get your point. I've already been agonizing over the sporran, belt, etc. I'll take it slow, though. I've seen the threads about the Leatherneck tartan and read the designer's post. I'll definitely check out the site when it's back up. I tried earlier, but, alas...
