The left-hand edge of the over-apron will butt up right against the first box pleat edge. OK, well, at the waist, anyway. It can drift away from the edge a little bit, say a quarter of an inch as you move down to the bottom of the fell. Therefore, all of the material you've got there for the

Fluter, I thought very hard about whether I wanted to put a reverse pleat over on the right side, in the X-Kilt. There's no doubt that having one would make for a better-draping kilt, especially when sitting. But then it was another detail to put in, and so I had to balance simplicity with fit. The whole point of the X-Kilt was to make it as simple as possible...ergo....no reverse pleat, and instead, wide under-aprons.

I took heart from the fact that Rocky's USA Kilts casual models have no reverse pleat, either and they look good.

And you did a darned good job of it! I meant to add another thank-you up-thread, so thanks.

Yup, I'm wearing one. Boy, are they the right garment for South Carolina! I did invest a foot of fabric in an under-pleat for my X-kilt Mk.I. Since I didn't make a huge under-apron, I guess that was a good choice.
