Argyll-, Braemar- and Crail jackets

I would like to know, where the exact differences are between an Argyll Jacket, a Braemar Jacket and a Crail Jacket?

Argyll Jackets
The Argyll day/evening jacket is versatile, altering its formality with accessories.
Suitable for all occasions, from dinners and Burns Suppers, balls and ceilidhs, to weddings, graduations,
Highland games or simply as general day wear.



Braemar Jackets
Similar to the Argyll jacket, but with more formal Prince Charlie style cuffs,
the versatile Braemar can alter its formality by changing accessories.
Suitable for all occasions, from dinners and dances, to graduations and weddings,
or simply as smart day wear.


Crail Jackets
Similar to the Argyll jacket, but with less formal plain cuffs, the day/evening wear Crail outfit
is often seen at events such as ceilidhs, games, or simply as general office or day wear.
Also suitable for wedding guests too.

Do you know, whether there are differences between measurements? I guess not.
The material probably is also the same.

Well I do have the Braemar pictured above, a couple of Argyll jackets, and a Prince Charlie, they are all the same size. The material may be different depending on what look you are going for. My Argylls and the Braemar are tweed, however the Prince Charlie is Black Barathea wool, you can get Argyll jackets in Barathea for a more formal look.

There are also even more casual jackets available. I have a leather kilt-cut sport coat from Stillwater, great for daywear. Steve of Freedom Kilts recently introduced a kilt-cut sport coat available in a variety of materials, as well.

I just noticed the kiltstore model is wearing a belt with his waistcoat, I am not. When the ensemble is worn with the waistcoat the belt is not needed, as it tends to make the bottom of the waistcoat jut out.

I, too, have a Stillwater leather "SWK Casual Leather Kilt Jacket". It would fall into the Crail type, but doesn't have any buttons on the cuff or pockets. It is a very nice casual jacket and worth the price. I wear a 42 Regular, with a 35" shirt-sleeve length and this one 42-44 fits me perfectly in chest and sleeve length. It's perfect for my SOKS nights out when my vest (waist-coat) isn't enough.

Really hard to tell what it looks like behind that watermark and the only other pics I've seen don't do it any credit.
