Looking very smart. I like the use of green hose with blue flashes to match the colours of the hose.

Oh,my word! You chaps are too kind, but thankyou all for your kind words.May I also thank those that have had the patience to bare with me whilst I struggled with the technology!

You asked a few questions so I will try to answer them.

The Tartan? MacLeod of Harris(ancient).I think the camera is not being too accurate, as in real life the blue is almost grey. The other colours in the picture are fairly true.

The Kilt? Was made in about 1995 by Chisholms of Inverness. Two straps and no belt loops.I dont recall who made the 16oz cloth ,but at a guess, Lochcarron.I think it would qualify as a "tank".

The coat and vest? Made 20 years ago by a local tailor. The cloth is 23oz Harris Tweed made for my family. The horn(antler)buttons were cut from the antlers of my eldest son's first stag.

    The Tie? The Household Division.

The stick(cromach)? Given to me as a 21st birthday present and has been a faithful friend for 46 years. The handle is made of rams horn and the shaft is hazel wood.It is probably a foot shorter than when it was new.

More pictures? It depends if I can remember what to do!

Yes the cromach is a walking stick, not necessarily as elegant as yours.

A far croonin is pullin me awa
As take I wi ma Cromach tae the road
The far Cuillins are puttin love on me
As step I wi the sunlight for my load

Sure by Tummel and Loch Rannoch and Loachaber I will go
Over tangled steps wi heaven in their wiles
If it's thinking in yer inner hairt there's braggart in my step
Ye've never smelt the tangle o' the Isles
    ...

Is it shorter as a result of the tapping contacts with the ground over that period of time?
