In Search of the Questing Beast
With my Canon EOS 1Ds in the car with plenty of memory chips, some beautiful weather, my black casual kilt packed and wearing my Black Watch, I am on my way to the mountains with no real schedule or "have to do's". A loose itenerary will take me up through the Rabun Gap, maybe a bit of time around Highlands, then to Sylva, N.C., on to Asheville, then over the mountains through Hog Rock Gorge, into Lake Lure, some apple cider in Apple Valley and on to Hendersonville for some antique stores. Should be plenty of time for local color and simply soaking up some chi!
No worries about the stock market, no thinking, son safely back from Venezuela, everything perking at MENSPLACE where the sale pricing has worked wonders and life can be VERY, VERY good. The one bit of poor timing, no good ales for a long while as my measurements for my kilts were a major sanity check in terms of girth, so no pubs? Well, maybe a small one if coerced?

On your way back down, stop by Paddy's Irish Pub at Chataue Elan and have some of their Chicken Wings and Green Sauce. You won't regret it!

Rabun Gap? Sylva? It sounds as though you're going directly to Franklin, which means that you must hit up our sponsor, Scottish Tartans Museum. If you haven't already made their acquaintance???
